Tiny creek, HUGE BROWNS!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Tiny creek, HUGE BROWNS!

Post by CyrusG »

I was shocked when i discovered this creek, so small you could jump over it but the size of the trout i saw cruising were massive! It only took a matter of seconds before they got spooked so being stealthy and staying down low was the plan. My first fish and first ever brown trout was a beauty 11 incher, caught not too long after scouting the creek and taking a few casts. I was over the top after catching my first brown, and spending 2 hours without catching another and getting eaten alive by the most bugs I've ever dealt with we were just about to leave until i decided to take a few more casts at a spot we already tried. I looked at the water and didn't see any trout, but the left side of the creek was covered with brush and not visible at my angle, i took a cast and this HUGE brown came out, bit and spat it out. I was just shaking because this trout was bigger than any of the trout i spooked earlier in the day, I thought that was it, i missed my chance.. I casted at it again, it came at my bait full speed and i set the hook hard, it was ON!! After a couple of minutes of battling with the beast and lots of profanity we could barely land it with the net my bro had on his vest, i did not expect to hook into a brown this big at a creek so small. it measured just under 21 inches, quick pic and she swam off.

Wow, working a new spot that doesn't look promising is how you make exciting discoveries!

There are certain fish that are amazing. This is one of them knowing roughly where it came from. From the size and of course the colors, just amazing!!
