Carp Fishing Report

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Carp Fishing Report

Post by Jimmy_1 »

Sunday myself, my fiance and the two wee ones decided to pack a pic nic and head east to relax at the park and wet a line.

We initially set up in a spot that looked very promising but after no action for quite sometime we packed up and moved...which isn't so easy with 2 babies, a playpen, double stroller, rod pod etc etc etc....but we did.

Moving spots was a GREAT IDEA...

We unpacked and I set up...again not much happening.
I sit down in the shade and give my son a bottle....
The beeper starts going NUTZ!!!! My rod pod and rod are heading into the St.Lawrence....CRAP!!!

I grab the rod just before its lost and listen to the pathetic sounds of a beeper going underwater....line is still stuck on rod pod.
Luckily the Rod Pod stops before it goes over the ledge..."I can retrieve it! PHEW!!"

Fight on! THis carp is bee-lining it to the other shore line....Line is just peeling and the reel is screaming! Luckily the Maddragon rod was able to keep it off the rocks and manageable to fight!

My fiance grabs the net and hops in the water...at this point my 16 month old daughter is all "What is all the commotion for??"

Netted, hook out and a few pic....

Back into the drink she goes....

Been a while since I have banked a Larry carp....missed it!

I will be back...

Thanks lads!

They have become a species I quite enjoy targetting.

Carping to me is more like trapping than fishing. Its a game of patience.

Plus they pull like a Mack truck!

Sounds like a good day to me! I never took the kids when they were that small. I can imagine the work involved during the move, but it was a good one like you said. Good going.
