Stones Lake info
Drove by Stones Lake the other day while doing a trout tour in Calabogie. It got me wondering what kind of species are in there and what the average depth is. Anybody ever fished there?

I rented a cottage there maybe 5-6 years ago at the north end of the lake.
All along the edges is lilly pads 2-3 feet deep and as soon as the weeds stop the bottom drops rather fast. This is where you want to cast your lures, they almost always hit at the edge of the weeds. They either come out of the weeds or come up from the deep.
Not sure on depth since I didn't have a sonar back then but I believe it would be 12-15ft in the middle possibly. Most fished the weed edge with all types of lures.
Very good fishing considering the size of the lake. Mostly caught Bass and Pike but didn't try for much else. Definitely worth a try.
