Algonquin Park Brookies

Went into the Park this weekend. We're calling it the trip of 3 seasons.... Friday was bitterly cold (low of -6° at night), Saturday was like spring (10°-17°) and yesterday was sunburn weather... Ohhhh Canadaaaaaaa!

Either way, it was another great trip. No monsters, but good steady action. A total of 16 brookies + 1 tiny laker. Caught all kinds of different ways, small spinners casting into shore, trolling crank baits/worm harnesses, drop shots near wood, etc.

Here are some of the better ones:

Next trip is planned for August (I have kids now).

Cheers!

Nice fishing Eric.

Were they caught during the winter, spring or summer?

Portaging with kayaks isn't the easiest, but we do alright. It's all worth it once we start catching them specks !

Cheers!

The park isn't opened during the winter for fishing!

Nice trip and thanks for sharing.

I think Maple was getting at did ya get them in the cold weather mid range temps or when blistering hot? Gotta love Canada when you can experience all that in one short weekend eh!

LOL, you're right, I totally missed that........

They were biting regardless of the season. THOUGH, we caught a TON of fallfish during winter/spring (Friday/Saturday), and nothing but brookies in summer (Sunday, on the way out of the park).
