So I'm at the cottage this past weekend fishing perch with the kids.
I can find them. I can see them. All they do I follow the worm/lure to the boat and then swim off. Wash rinse repeat. What's up with that?
I did notice random blobs of eggs in the spot I was in. Are they in spawn mode and uninterested? At one pont early summer we get perch fry by the the thousands. Can't say I'm familliar with the way perch operate. I've had better luck earlier and later in the season.

fish bright yellow and small
Also, the weekend was on the back end of a cold front so fish were lethargic. It was pike opening on Friday and we had a lot of follows that didn't bite (thankfully we still ended up getting a few).
I can't comment on their spawing and feeting habits because I don't know.
