Hi,
Can anyone confirm whether lac la peche in Quebec is open for fishing pike and walleye on 9/May?
Many thanks in advance

Wasn't it kind of late to ask?? But to answer your question I am pretty sure that it opens this Friday May 15th. Usually the Friday of the long weekend.
When hell freezes over, I'll be there icefishing!!!

Re: Lac la peche - for pike and walleye?
Thanks for your confirmation, Wallyboss!
Sorry my mistake, my typo. 9/May was the day the park is open this year. I got confused. I have not been to lac la peche this year yet. For fishing in Quebec, the opening day can be found on:
http://peche.faune.gouv.qc.ca/?lang=en# ... droit=null
Regarding the length limit of walleye, the regulations can be found on:
http://www.mffp.gouv.qc.ca/english/publ ... limits.asp
If I am correct, Lac la peche is located in zone 10, Quebec and it seems there is no length limit (zone 10) for yellow walleye and sauger. Can anyone confirm? I hope I won't violate the regulations. Many thanks in advance.

When you say about the park being open on the 9th?? If you mean Laverendrye then that opens only on the 15th also!!!

I think there is a length limit.
ZONES 3 to 12, 21 and 27 except for the following waters:
You may keep yellow walleye between 37 cm up to and including 53 cm in length
Yellow walleye and sauger must be whole2 or filleted with the skin fully attached6 (see the section entitled
“How to cut up fillets with the skin fully attached”)
Sauger: no length limit.

Thank you, Wallyboss!
I checked the following:
http://www.ncc-ccn.gc.ca/places-to-visi ... ineau-park
It seems "Boating in Gatineau Park" is open since 8/May. You can see below, "La Pêche Lake" is included. It shows "Hours of Service" and "dates" (Philippe Lake and La Pêche Lake)
And thank you for your correction. You are right. For zone 3 to 12 (including zone 10, of course), there is length limit for fishing walleye, which is 37-53 cm. I will keep that in mind.
Thank you again, Wallyboss.

Hi, Wallyboss
Are you sure? I checked:
http://peche.faune.gouv.qc.ca/?lang=en# ... droit=null
The zone 10 opens: 15 may 2015 to 31 march 2016 for pike, walleye and sauger
bass is not open until 19, June.

Don't worry about size slots for Lac Lapeche for Walleye... you catch one in that lake and you better call Ripley's.
Pike is what you will catch in there. There are no Walleye. I used to contract for the NCC at that lake. No boat launch, carry in only. They put up barriers a few years back to stop motor boats from accessing.
Great lake though. Beautiful and secluded.
Jig dead minnows like you are ice fishing and put on your seatbelt!
