Gar question

Do Gar bite this time of the year?

I got the itch to go fishing and there's a spot on the Ottawa river that i usually fish in the summer from my kayak. During the summer at sundown the gar are usually fallowing me around that area sometimes they even hit my yak. I think they just like my red yak. So was just wondering if gar usually bite this time of the year.

I might try gar myself to in my yak. On the fly(rope)...

And frome what i see you stay in an area where there some .

Any link on how to make a lure with rope? I will be aiming for my first gar this year. Also, any tips on unhooking the fish?

Just remember a hookless lure is technically illegal in Ontario. Start with a jig head and leave the hook in.
