Someday in Ontario

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Like eyes, trout and pike around here, I think it fair enough to protect bass in the spawn. But open 'em up to an ice fishing season like everything else.

ShawnD - no offense taken and never will be in a good debate. Having grown up on the west coast - where nobody in there right mind ever fished for Bass (20 years ago).

I was under the assumption that while bass can survive and thrive in our waters they did better in warmer waters down south.

Live and learn, thanks!

Now I am totally for anyone keeping the fish they catch but for me I am 99% C&R. Anyway I would be curious to see the replies.

Actualcityfishing, I will if it is a cool start to the summer without many storms. Come second week in July, I don't do it any more. Water temps are a great incubator for parasites after the city dumps excess sewage in after a storm.
But that's just me.
