Hey all. Just want to let people know that there was ice by the bridge on Highway seven in Mississippi lake. It is definitely not any ice to go on yet but it is cool to see that there is ice forming. A few more weeks and will be starting our hardwater season

The back bays of Clayton have also been frozen for a few days now, at least until Monday!

Hey Hey Hey not so fast!!! I reckon there is still some softwater fishing to be had: look at this forecast coming up :) sunday through tuesday looks like a GREAT stretch of fishable weather, average high is over 5 degrees all those days. So the plan is to call in sick sunday, monday get into an "accident"(Throwing ideas around as to what this should be any suggestions welcome), lick my wounds on tuesday THEN come back to work wednesday and show my coworkers pics of the fish I caught... from LAST november of course!!! ;) ;) ;)

You got the right idea Tbone! Hope you get a good one. Can't wait for ice but don't want the open water season to end either!

 That's insane, i wen't on crappie bay one of the first days of december last year with a few other groups but the shoreline was sketchy, i did manage to catch a few slabs but i'll wait a little longer this year

The ice is not safe yet guys, i'd give it a few more weeks atleast

Peter, bite your tongue.
There,s still another couple hundred bass to be caught yet this fall.
Plus, some more giant smallies to bring on board
Just give me three more days, that should look after it.
I can then fog my E-Tec and say Stay warm and safe in the garage.
THREE MORE DAYS

Soft water: love it! Hard water: LOVE IT! This slushy crap we have to deal with between the two: hate it!

You know whats worse than waiting a couple weeks to ice fish? Waiting a couple MONTHS to shorefish :( We should take a vote and eliminate the month of april all together...
