So you say there's no decent fish in White Lake????

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

So you say there's no decent fish in White Lake????

Post by jona38 »

Well I beg to differ!!
Went out this afternoon on White Lake and piled smallies like cord wood. 7 or 8 like the ones pictured and what seemed like a dump truck load of 1-2 pounders (as per usual on White Lake). 15' to 20' dropshoting and 6XD's and 10' to12' on jerk baits. Didn't get to many pics today, I was on a solo mission but here's a few. Jon

Atta go jona on the beautiful fish. The colours are starting to strengthen up for sure. I had success on the drop shot a few weeks ago there. Starting to enjoy deeper water now which I never explored before. Always stayed away from the deep!
Fishing isn't a matter of life and death....
It's much more important.

No bass on White Lake ... That is very odd.

I don't know the lake well enough to know the names of spots, but we launched at the museum and fished a bunch of spots probably up to 1/3rd of the way down the main lake from the launch. We focused mostly on the rock islands after getting through the narrows and shallow stuff in that big section near the launch.

I had luck on clackin raps and my wife managed to get some hook ups on a regular ole plastic worm. We were fishing mainly in 10-20 FOW, with lots of rock and sparse weed cover. I did head into some shallower stuff with weeds where I tried some top water baits and shallow running cranks, but didn't get a sniff. Same thing goes for spinnerbaits, nothing.

Now, keep in mind that I'm as bad of a bass fisherman as you can find. Still trying to work the trout game out of my system, LOL. I've been trying everything I can think of and just can't seem to figure it out with any degree of consistency. I'll get the odd fish here and there, but that's about it. Pointers and advice are greatly appreciated, LOL!

Be weary of anyone who says the fishing isn't good on a particular lake. Especially when they go missing for several hours on weekends.

The TWO biggest fish in BAA came on White Lake this year. When has that EVER happened?!?!?!
Both pushing 6 pounds.

And, I even got a nice 4-5# walleye that day too (Mid-September).
