Big walters from the river

Post by theDL »

After plying the waters of the river for 'eyes with little success over the last 2-3 years, I finally seem to be getting into some gooduns. Finding them in unpredictable spots from kingston to Cardinal :?: have yet to hit any numbers of them consistently, but here's some recent big walters:

Got this 8.5 lb'r jigging my favorite large pike spoon last week...which was lost the following night in the same spot when something big broke my 20lb braid (was using a heavy flour leader) 8O

Image

Went back to that same spot the following night and fished from 6pm till 1am without a bite

Got this 11+lbr (scale was all over the place) on a reef runner 'drifting' in 50-60km/hr wind and hail on Sunday, put up one hell of a fight on my 6'10" medium rod :D

Wow, crazy huge walters right there!!! You're having an unbelievable fall so far with those monster walleyes you've been boating. Congrats, keep those reports coming!

Big jigging spoon for walter, cool.
That may work on mule smallies this time of year too. ;)
Great to see a walleye report DL, to get us pumped for the fall trophy season.
