If I'm not mistaken, there are no regs for Gar.

Yes, they are a "coarse" fish, coarse fish have no species specific restrictions.

well i was in a fishing yak and i was using my fly rod.... that's about all i'm gonna say hehe
had hell of a time getting him into the net! brought him back to shore did int want to take a chance losing him out on the water...
