Hi Daner,

On an old post (Otter Lake) you provided information/knowledge on McCuaig Lake (just south of the Otter Lake village).

The wife is thinking of renting a cottage for a week in July on McCuaig Lake. Would you know the fish species held in there?

Much appreciated.

Not Daner, but FYI, I know it has pike and I assume bass.
Some of the lakes around (farm and McCuaig) had rainbow stocked a while back but I think that turned out to be pike food. One of those "they're supposed to be in there" but no one I know has caught one.

Thanks SeaMonster,

That's what I had figured out, as too contacting the Campbell's Bay Ministry Office.

Going to bring my Float-Tube. The cottage already provides canoes, etc.

I'll be fly-fishing, but the wife will be using her baitcaster gear. She catches bigger fish then me. Even if the lake had no fish, she would still catch something out of it.

Maybe she will be lucky and catch one of those elusive trout.

That's the kind of fishing buddy I like to bring along! Good luck!

Beautiful lake. For now, lots of rockbass, and bass. Wife fishing from my SOT kayak, and I from my FloatTube. Last two days made swimming a challenge, since water got colder. Even have a frisby size turtle coming to see us at the dock each day at 4:00 pm. It is kind of funny.

Forgot to mention. Canadian Team won the CanAm 2014 Carp competition. Quite an experience. Looking forward to next year. Will be held that time in USA.
