For Fun: Whats your favorite snack on the boat?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

For Fun: Whats your favorite snack on the boat?

Post by ShawnD »

Last year I got into the habbit of stocking up on food at Timmies before heading out... :|

 Going to try a little harder this year... Getting tired of garlic cream cheese on an everything bagel..

I'm a big fan of the Wife's home made chocolate chip / oatmeal muffins, followed up with some assorted juice boxes for good measure. Not uncommon to see a bag of mini assorted chocolate bars on board either. Always have a little cooler bag with some boat goodies on board for those long days on the water. :D

When I prepare the snacks:
Egg salad sandwiches.
Oranges or apples, ice cold water and a six pack of Gatorade (partly frozen)
.

If I let my fishing partner prepare the snacks:
Doritos and beef jerky sticks.
We usually have to stop somewhere to pick up something to drink (lukewarm of course).

Jerky quite often is the only item that makes it onto the boat. I usually stop somewhere and buy a big bottle of Gatorade. If the wife is preparing for me (which she does quite often), I may still grab jerky but I usually have PB&J sandwiches and a few small snacks like granola bars and maybe some muffins if we leave early in the AM.

Someone should open a Floating Canteen Service.
They would make a ton of money.

Coffee in the morning, peperoni's and coke and maybe some water in the afternoon.
Eat light, fish heavy.

Next time you are on the Rideau, take a look for a multi coloured pontoon. He sells ice creams and a few other things if I remember correctly. He is usually around the Kars airfield.

I figure if you aren't catching anything tournament day, you can at least enjoy a nice ice cream sandwich or something...

I am a Food guy. So I like a pile of options. ShawnD can verify.
If I am with the kids. It is a variety of healthy snacks. Apples, granola bars, trail mix with a good selection of candy that they normally would not have. Gummy worms. Swedish fish ( we actually bite the heads off at the beginning for good luck), and other high sugar treats. PB&J with a ratio of 2:1 on fresh cut bread.

If it's just me, it means limited time, so usually a bottle of water and snickers bar.

If it is with a fishing partner. Good sandwiches. Piled high with meat, smoked meat or Ham and aged cheddar with appropriate condiments. Some savoury snacks like peanut mixes and some jerkey. And then Something for the sweet tooth.

That's cause they're called Mange-Plus. Right beside the Douce Marie.

Cold KFC chicken. Pick it up the night before and leave it in the fridge. Doesn't sound appetizing, but when you're on the water its just about the best thing going. That streetwise bucket is a great lunch for 2.

Otherwise its jerky and PB & J, maybe some dorritos.

BBQ sausage in a bun, Peperrettes, a few hard boiled eggs, lots of water. Coffee and a muffin for the drive to the launch.

I love jerky too but because it goes right thru me and gives me the Green Apple Two-Step i only eat it at home.
When hell freezes over, I'll be there icefishing!!!
