This will not effect the ice fishing in the lakes close to us... if you read the information carefully they only apply to certain areas... only area 11 is close to us. Thank God!

as of April 1st 2014 you can not fish for Lakers anywhere in Quebec during ice fishing season. That applies to all zones

I think Zone 11 has the lake trout plan implemented already and it's putting a lot of pressure on the walleye in the area. This will be a province wide ban from what I am hearing and will affect us. Many lakes will close.

This new rule has nothing to do with an increase of anglers fishing for whitefish on 31 mile lake. 31 see's very few anglers from out of town. Most are local. This has been in the works for some time now.

Ok I think I figured out where I thought I saw a difference but you are right... damn all areas are closed. I thought I read it as Zone 1, 15 etc when it fact it is Zone 1-15 inclusive. This will totally suck. Guess the Ottawa river will get pounded worse then usual.

Seaweed i think your missing it .......any lake in Quebec that has Lakers in it,,,, is not allowed ice fishing don't matter what zone your talking about
