bay of quinte ice rentals

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

bay of quinte ice rentals

Post by steve_rauch »

Just wondering if anyone could recommend a good ice shack rental down there. something with lodging would be a bonus. I have never been down there before and its going to be a gift for the old man.
Thanks
Steve

I'm also interested in getting some information. I'd be looking for a ***** shack.
I'd be wanting to find out if they also rent the equipment.

Many of the ice fishing operations of Quinte are guides using portable huts so they can move to stay on the ice, instead of "permanent" wood shacks. Many can supply you with all the required gear (rods, lures, bait, portable hut, flasher....). Several good operations in the link posted above.

Perfect Vu offers Lodging and it's located right on a decent stretch walleye water. I'm sure a few guides operate out of that area. If you call Perfect Vu they will help you I'm sure. I've ice fished the area several times successfully but have never used a guide. You'll need 1/2oz to 3/4oz spoons in most spots due to the current.

I went out with Jeff Chisholm and the Quinte Ice Fishing Team a couple years ago. Great time and learnt a lot of tips for ice fishing quinte. Hopefully be going out again this year.

I would second Jim's comment on the Quinte Ice Fishing Team.. doesn't matter of you get out with Jeff, Joe or Matt all great guys and great fisherman.

Ice safety is key for me.. even more than catching fish.. these guys are on the ice every day and won't put you in harms way, while at the same time increasing your odds for trophy walleye... over the past 3 seasons fishing on the ice with them I have personally seen more than 10 fish over 10 lbs.. not to mention good numbers too.

But it is fishing and if the bite isn't on, then pickins can be slim:)

Know they are real busy on weekends, but if you swing a weekday you can often get a booking

They keep adapting their business model, so give them a call to discuss your particular needs!
