Just doing a little research here......curious when folks call it quits with ice fishing.

...of course, the weather plays a major role in all this. The poll is based on a perfect winter where your shack could be out 'till the end of March....if you're in FMZ15.

I quit drinking in 1992 and I don't think I have been ice fishing since. I don't know if there is a meaning or coincedence ( actually it was 1990 I quit smoking in 92)

I fish all year round. I was dragging buzz baits in the Gatineau River in that last snow storm yesterday!

Not necessarily catching fish... but I get to practice my casting!!

Normally I'm on the ice until I feel it's no longer safe. This year I'm planning to stop around mid march once the lake ontario/st. lawrence tributaries become reasonably fishable.

I used to just walk out to the edge of the ice and start casting into the open water.

Unless something unforseen comes up.....I already have stopped

Unsafe ice and that's still 2 months away easily!
