Not a football fan at all.....so I headed out to the quiet lake for a few hours.....
Tough bite with a mixed bag coming topside....
I did eat like a king though..
Coaxed this decent one for a visit....
Birdee and I are off to the Calabogie Highlands for 4 days of fishin'.....watch for that Gong Show filled report Sunday night!

I spent my Superbowl Sunday tobogganing with my girls and then spent all afternoon preparing for a nice big fish fry... Cajun style and some homemade beer batter style. Topped off the evening drinking home brew with a couple friends and my girls watching Open Season on tv. No football for this gang.

Catching crappie while eating wings and drinking Diet Pepsi? Now I know what I'm missing while in my hut! That's the recipe for success.
Nice fish RJ!

Well RJ, at least, you have the Superbowl eating tradition locked in with the food smorgasbord
...looks good! I don't think Dropshot'r and other Pittsburgh fans are too happy with the outcome today though. By the way, the Crappie in your picture looks more the size of a plate...what girth! Tear 'em up in Calabogie!

Not really sure what picture I prefer in this report.
On the one hand there's a pretty nice looking slab of a crappie... but on the other hand, a nice sized tray of chicken wings...
...mmmmmm chicken wiiiiiings...
Looking forward to the "Bogie" report.
