Am I the only one??

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

None of you hounds are superstitious?!!!

Hell... I am!!!!

When I played hockey... soccer... and go fishing... nothing doing!

BAD MOJO to get The Mojo on the go!

The machine stays in neutral.

My sister in law hates it when I go fishing.

Funny, I find as a general rule these activities to be mutually exclusive....

I never used to be able to sleep before taking a plane somewhere... I'd constantly look at the clock afaid I'd miss my flight.... then I started travelling for work A LOT. Then flying became routine, and I didn't think about it. So my take away is, to fish a lot more than I do now.....

I get this too; even if I have the alarm set for 4:30am I still wake up before it goes off. I should be able to do better as I've made my living for over 10 years working in a sleep lab!
Just a bit of soap box preaching here: although Nyquil will get you to sleep faster its also a sedative (as is alcohol) so anyone who snores or has sleep apnea - this will make it worse (increasing your number of awakenings and have you sleeping lighter). Melatonin might be a better sleep aid to use.
I find having all my gear packed up and ready to go gives me peace of mind and helps me sleep better, so being totally prepared before you go to bed helps for me.
Heavy exercise early in the day is good and I agree that a bit of sweet lovin' just before bed never hurts either! :D

To Summarize:

1- Raid the local pharmacy
2- Check out the nearest alley/bar for a shady but helpful connection
3- Pick up some tasty and addictive beverages
4- Stand on a street corner/call a newspaper # and meet an attractive friend
5- Go to the gym and start pounding away while thinking of a person you don't care for
6- Bring all your lines to sleep with you and try and pull off a Houdini
7- Make sure your alarm is connected to your vehicle horn - that way your neighbors will surely wake you up
8- Visit a farm and play with the animals
9- Get some therapy from an educated medical officer
10- Purchase a bird costume

Have I forgotten something/someone?

Holy cow (or sheep)...the advice here!!!!

I was just going to suggest reading until your eyes crossed! It works for me when my night time worry wagon is out of control. Having an accommodating spouse won't hurt for sure, but I'd hope that you're never desperate enough to start checking out the woolies.

W.

PS: Benadryl and NyQuil are wonder products.
Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

I have the same problem when I head up north to Gananoque Lake on Memorial Day weekend, the nite before offers no solice as sleep never comes. Just too damn excited I guess, I read, watch tv, listen to music, count sheep, whatever, it doesn't work. I do sleep like a baby Joisey Joe the nites at the cottage of course, wonder if it's the cognac and cigar by the bon fire!

My wife is a pharmacy tech. So because I am leaving super early to go fishing the drugs might be the easiest option......
