Winter oil for Spinning reel

Hi;
Last time and 1st time I went out ice fishing this year,
my spinning reel was really reluctant to retrieve line.
It was as if line was trapped and ....
Someone mentioned that grease can collect inside the reel and harden which prevents the smooth reel action.
They also mentioned that I should be using an oil.

Would someone direct me as to what kind of oil or lub that will prevent such
reluctant retrieve?

Thanks,
Daner

Bits & Baits has some Frabill Sub Zero Multi Purpose Low Temp Lubricant which is good for reels and tip-ups.
Not as good an option but do-able is to use regular reel oil but just use very little so it doesn't freeze up.
Also get rid of any clumps of grease inside the reel.

Reel Butter - highly recommend it for all your reels.
