A cold one on Petrie today - January 15th

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

A cold one on Petrie today - January 15th

Post by Spezza_Fan »

Hey guys,
I made my my first trip out to Petrie today in search of some slabs. Made it out on the water with my buddy around noon. Lots of people on the ice but all of them in huts. We were the only ones out old school style without a popup. We drilled 16 holes in 6-10 fow and saw fish on the Marcum but all stuck to the bottom. We caught 12 perch but no Crappie.

Where are they at?

I got reply from Yannick and he told me I was in the wrong bay. I feel like such a tool. Lol

Oh well I guess I'll have to go back sometime soon to hit the right bay.

Derek feels like an idiot. My brain is still frozen I guess.

The crappies weren't on today for me but the bluegills were.

So Dan the FL-22 or the 20??? I didn't play too much with the 22 because it's not MY birthday yet, mine 's in March.

Thanks to RJ for that Demo I am sure that a couple of guys got the bug for one.
When hell freezes over, I'll be there icefishing!!!

Wallyboss,
I guess if you get bitten by the bug you may as well go whole hog with the 22.
