Mississippi Lake Ice conditions

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

So as of yesterday there was 8-9" of solid black ice in Ebbs bay and about 6-7" further out in the large lake.

No fish in the lake though

It's much more important.

I was going to head out to Grasshopper but when I saw the 6-7" by Ebbs bay islands I knew it would be a bit thicker so did not need to check. So did you keep the only fish in the lake then Mission???

Looks like the ice is ready for us, well except the Mississippi cause there is no fish, lol. Good report guys, thanks. I'm hoping to be heading out tomorrow evening and try out some of my new lures. Hey Jim W. send me a message. Be safe everyone,

Measured the ice tonight 11.5" of black ice. Caught a couple small eyes tonight. The bite has been a little slow this year but, we have managed to catch a 6.4lb and a 6.5lb walleye this season. The crappie fishing has been terrible.
