Dec 22 Crappie Report

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Dec 22 Crappie Report

Post by JimW »

Well I got out for the first time this season on Wednesday after work for a couple hours in search of crappie. The lake we were on had 7" of good ice.

The fishing wasn't great, the crappie didn't even want the jig moving, just had to let it sit and they would gently pick at it.

In the end between the 4 of us we caught about 30 crappie most were 6-7", wih a couple close to 12".

Probably won't get out again until the new year, unless I seek out of Boxing Day.

Good luck and be safe out there.

JimW

I heard they are very finicky and hard to locate if not harder then walleye so I'm gonna put a hold on them for a bit till I get the walleye figured out better

Yes but once you find them... you've hit paydirt! Worth the effort IMO
