2011 summer planning

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

2011 summer planning

Post by bassman »

Thinking of crossing off another lake on the big list of lakes to fish. Is Gananoque lake worth spending a week on or am I better off fishing Charleston lake for 2 weeks. On Gan I would be looking for largies, yes no.

Happy Holidays

I'd pick Charleston. I know there are some big fish in Gan but for beaty and space as well as big fish I'd pick Charleston.

I should have mentioned that I have fished Charleston a few times now, love that body of water.

You certainly can't go wrong with either lake. Charleston being much bigger would afford you more water to play on over your holidays.

Is the Big Rideau on your list?

Big Rideau is definitely on the list. If anyone knows of cottage rentals on the lake private or otherwise, I'll check it out.

Bassman, haven't yet fished Charleston but fish Gan Lake every spring, target Pike but there are tons of bass in that lake. My best is a 5lb. 3 oz. Largie on a minnow with a slip bobber, plenty of Smallies also, I'm told by Bob at Griffin's that the Bass fishin is amazing, good luck, Joe.

If you wish to chat about Gan give me a pm, Joe.
