A very close friend of mine and a guy I fish some tournaments with one this tournament in 2008....same thing...not a stich of advertisment on them...they said it was great to beat "the big boys"
Craig's right, who doesn't love seeing the underdog kick @$$....great job
Hey, do you know what time the 8 pounder makes her appearance?
I believe it was half way threw the weigh in, actually the guy who caught didn't go up on stage at first, in the last pic i posted the 8 pnder is in his right hand its a 5 in his left!
Any way you look at this, it is just sick.
Imagine coming to the scales with 29 lbs, anchored with a 7lber, and find out that it's only good enough for 3rd.... Unreal..
Forget the total lb did he say a 8lb smallie, I'd be getting an 8lb smallie belt buckle that wouldn't come off for a year even if I was wearing joggers!

Which I'm sure has also been beaten before, just not in competition. Last weekends bags were incredible. That 8lbs fish like mentioned is a true whopper for our waters. I've never seen anything like it Simcoe is the place to be right now for gigantic smallies!
I live in Orillia, where the boats blasted off and the weigh in took place. These 2 lakes are at my doorstep. I see these fish all the time. ( Not me catching them btw)lol The heavy weights of the weigh- in was no fluke. We have a spot called the limestones in Couchiching, crystal clear water and you can see these fish at any time. If yous can get a trip planned for Simcoe or Couchiching, I highly recommend it.
