I'd call that a good outing! Nice boat you've got there -- perfect for fishing!

Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

Nice Report. Just currious, where is this boat launch? West End, i've actually never launched in the West but looks like a nice, paved, set up!

Cheers,

Yes I was Handlining
I figured someone would notice the reel
The launch is in Petawawa.
The water just went up, allot, so the launch is great now.

Thanks

are there bigger walleye in ottawa river? biggest i've caught so far is about the 2lb range.. and smaller.
thinking of making another trip on the river, if i can only find a decent walleye hotspot for bigger ones.

thanks.

Good report and nice pics.

I'm hoping you post a few more hand-line reports. Something I've never really herd much about.

Thanks for sharing,

Nice fish you got there. Glad to hear the launch is better it was starting to get bad on the one side there.

This spring I caught one 4lber and several 3's, We had a 5.5lber in a tournament this summer too. Biggest I've seen out of the ottawa is mounted on my buddies wall 8.2. Saw a 9.5er last year out of the Petawawa River (drains into the Otawa river.

There are some nice ones out there for-sure.

Here is an old pic from Lake Nippising, you can see the handlines, the spoon's we use, and a monster Perch
