This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

2011 vacation help

Post by yellowned »

Next year me and my wife would like to try a different lake to
vacation / fish. We live in pa and usually come up north the last
week in july. Usually we fish for walleye and smallies. Our normal
lakes we fish are lake clear & constant near eganville, or black donald
& calabogie. We would like to try BIG GULL, SHOOTAMATTA
MARBLE OR KASHWAKAMAK lake. I did fish kash last week with my friend
for the first time and did not do good at all on smallies ,but did very well
on walleye. Nobody did well at camp either (fernleigh lodge). Which
lake would you recommend / or one not listed. Thanks so much
in advance. thanks again yellowned

You might want to give Charles up at Whitefish Lodge a call. The lodge is situated about an hour north of Ottawa close to the town of Gracefield. Charlie does not have a great web site, even when it is up and running so phone contact is the best. He can be reached at 819-463-2629 and the best times are after dark since he is usually out guiding through the day. Saturday mornings are good as well.
A lot of folks from PA visit the lodge and return year after year.

After fishing Constant Lake you will be disappointed no matter where you go.

I fished kashwakamak lake and was disappointed as well ... it's a really nice lake with beautiful clear water that appears like it should hold fish but we didn't get too much of a rise ... we didn't fish walleye though ...
