Identify this fish

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Identify this fish

Post by redletterdays »

So I like aquariums, I have a nice tropical aquarium. This is what it looks like

Now I like fishing and I've been catching some pretty standard stuff in my minnow trap [catfish, shiners, crappies]

And then this guy. I've had this guy for about 2 months now and I am still unsure what he is.. Could you please help?

Perhaps the fish in the 2nd photo is a Log Perch.

Folks here should also take note of how those fish in the first photo are relating to rock and weed transition....

Those are the only type I get in the pond at home. They are resilient little buggers; not as flashy as a shiner by a long shot but you only need one for the whole ice fishing season!
