Vacation Closer Report - Several Pictures
As the Torpedo reported, we had our last good stretch of time up at the cottage before (@#$%&!) school starts.
First few days we had Tyler's close friend visit; the boys had a blast fishing, swimming and just being kids.
No clashes with wildlife this time, as in previous visits.
Bass were fairly cooperative, but I just haven't gotten into the sizes I got last year. Largest for me, about 18-1/2" and Ty about the same, but he did boat one heck of a bloated fatty pig that knocked our socks off. Shane messed around with the panfish, perch and occasional pike. He was on fire with his secret bait. Can't tell you how many times I heard, "GOT ONE!"
We also had Slushy and Bowzog from Bits and Baits pay a visit, and we got out for a (very!) windy fish. A few decent bass were found as well as some moderate perching action. I pulled out a personal best perch at 13-1/4". Thanks for taking the time to come see us guys, and also for the great baits for the kids.
Here are the pic's:
Torpedo and Slushy
My Giant Perch
Largemouth for Me
Gord's Bass on Topwater
One for Slushy at Dusk
Northerns were liking white and yellow spinnerbaits:
Don't usually use the glove, but this guy had Xtra Snot Factor going on.
Devil Loon's pike - he doesn't care to hold them yet.
This feisty guy was caught while I was casting from the paddleboat.
Another good largie
The Torpedo's Bloated Beastie - Oink Oink! He landed it like a pro.
Another view which shows its girth a little better. Fish released very well.
Nice, chunky young bronzie:
And another...
The Rockbass Kid...(He's learning to take his own fish off & doing great!)
...Strikes Again!
More Bassin' Pic's
My Best of the Trip
The SKipper & Gilligan - Ahoy.
My Mom is 82 years old and she also visited for a few days. We managed to walk her carefully down our steep trail and got her into a paddleboat. Not bad for a senior chick! She enjoyed almost an hour out, cruising up and down the shoreline with me. I'm glad we gave it a go!
When I have time, I have some nature themed pic's I will try to post in the Non-Fishing forum.
Gotta run. Hope you enjoyed!

Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

Great report - and those are some really nice fish all round.
Ty's bucket - what a hog!! Any perch north of 10" is a goodun, but >13" is superb! Shane's the Rock Bass champ!
You have to come back again when the leaves change colour, there's a nickel in Wolfe with your name on it I'm sure. The good karma from pulling that hook outa the bass's butt has to pay off!!

Looks like you had a very good time at the cottage. Congrats on all the fishies.
When hell freezes over, I'll be there icefishing!!!
