Olmstead-Jefferey Lake

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Unless you know someone who owns property on the lake you won't have legal access to it, its all private land around it.

Thanks Gordo, It seems that the new owner of mac's cedar rest in Eganville just bought Pinewood. Maybe we will be able to launch through there.

I camp at pinewood park...

As for the new owners i haven't heard anything about it...

For the fishing though, its great for number of fish, but dont expect to be catching lunkers. Lots of small mouth, some largies here and there. Also some pike. I've heard people talking about catching walleye in there but have yet to see it happen.

I usually fish it when I don't feel like driving out to the Ottawa river or Muskrat, but IMHO, the extra 5 minutes to Muskrat is worth it if you're already on the road...you'll have a good public launch, more species to target and better size fish.

I grew up on those lakes, we used to camp there at pinewood park all summer every summer for about 10 years. I loved the place, me and my brother used to catch bass one after another out there. I haven't been there in 10 years and was actually thinking about going camping up there again. A report would be great. Let me know how the fishing is!

I also forgot to mention that if ever you do get in through pinewood, there is a 10hp limit for motors when accessing from one of the campgrounds on the lake
