weedbed walleye

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

weedbed walleye

Post by Yannick Loranger »

Got out with the wife for a couple hours this afternoon. The spot I've been hitting the last couple days was bone dry so we went back to an 'ole faithful trolling run and got a few hammer handles before I got these two walleye a minute apart. Good way to pop my walleye cherry for the season!

Nope, no tasty treat, I didn't even bother measuring, I would think the first was about 18-19" and the second a little over 20". And yes Ottawa River. Can't tell you what I was trolling or where (although those of you who know my stretch of the river can probably figure it out by the pics), some of you probably wouldn't believe me anyway, but if anyone cares to join me on the river next Tuesday, I'll be giving that pattern another go, it produced a bunch of nice walleye last year too.

Happy long weekend to all, I'm heading north to pluck walleye off the top of a bridge, great fun, I'll try to get a video.
