This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Carp Fishing

Post by banshee807 »

Anyone know a good spots to do some carp fishing in the Perth/Smith Falls area?

I've been looking around and most spots suggested are a ways into Ottawa, anything more out in the country? I've done some searching along the Tay River and just can't find any.

Thanks

Josh

Welcome to Fish-Hawk.

The St. Lawrence has GIANT carp. I see the big pigs all the time.

If I were you I'd head north to the Ottawa or south to the St. Lawrence.
There are carp in the Tay watershed but very few.

I've seen them in the Tay near Stewart Park...never fished for them, but have seen them there.

Some BIG carp here in Richmond... not that far away from Smiths falls.

you can see them any sunny day from the bridge in center of town.

As a matter of fact.. there's a fellow fishing for them right now out of an aluminum canoe.
