Still waiting for your boater's card?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I totally agree!!!!

Makes me crazy... any cash grab does, and that is all this is.

Can someone tell me why it costs $40 from some places and $80 at others? If I get my car license, or fishing license or hunting license, it costs the EXACT same no mater where I go in the province. If this was a legitimate program and NOT a scam, it would be mandated to cost the same across the country.

I am all for having some sort of competency required to run a boat or water craft, but it has to be legitimate. This is not. Not even close.

I wonder if this boaters card isn't a lawsuit waiting to happen.

I take the exam from one of these online sites. Wiff through like 99% of the people who got it... ram into a yacht and cripple myself because I had a false sense of competency because I have a Boaters Card.

Who do you sue?

The online site?
The Government pin heads that came up with this rectalmania?

The more I think about this whole (hole) thing, the more I realize that it infuriates me.

the course is not bad..if you do it like you supose to.

and do luren frome it..not do it just to past the test or let somebody do your test.

but most people in here are fishermans and most wont even see a boy or something like that.

there should be some deferent course..andmabe in a classroom. and for some type off fishing no card at all.

99% of the buoys and markers, I probably will never see in my lifetime. lol

Where am I going to be fishing the ocean? nope...

The most i've seen are channel marking buoys, and jugs tied to string above rocks....and at big rideau, shoal markers, but it's pretty obvious what those are, they definitely aren't "boat here" signs or free bleach.

A little common sense on the water goes a long way. Fishermen spend most of their time just puttering around, I think it's "pleasure boaters" who should get the card since they are the ones on jet ski's and boats that go 60mph ripping around all day long annoying the crap out of people and nature.....

damn i'm grumpy today
