Pics of how Vehicles are Recovered after going thru the Ice

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Pics of how Vehicles are Recovered after going thru the Ice

Post by troutnmuskiehunter »

Some of you have seen this before when I posted it a couple of years back...JimW's post of a recent trip to Temagami reminded me of another vehicle recovery up there 8)

A truck was traveling on Lake Temagami early in the season and broke thru the ice.....

The recovery team was also local and they had to wait a few weeks until the ice got thick enough to for them to travel on..

Maybe they should let it hang for a day or so, to drip dry!!
When hell freezes over, I'll be there icefishing!!!

I was just mentioning (in Jim W's thread) an episode I saw on Dirty Jobs where this guy has a patented scaffolding-type retrieval system to pull cars up from the depths after they plunge through the ice.

Neat pictures, TMH. Thx for putting those up.

Well the frame will be ok ! The engine will need to be opened/cleaned and dryed out $$$$$.......... as for the electric part of the car ............ lets just say hes better of buying a new. As far as i've ever seen or heard of when a car goes down it's a write off.
