This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Hay Bay and Area Report - 9-09-09

Post by Superdad »

Was out to fish on 9-09-09 with BayBoy and MuddlerMan around 0915, we tried some areas in Adolphus Reach BUT the four foot waves made fishing almost impossible.

Made a pass thru Mallory Bay as it was protected from the east wind, n ever had a touch or a sign.

Headed back to Hay Bay and found some relief from the wind at Shermans Pt. Began a troll in 13' and before I had my line set, MuddlerMan cries "Fish On", landed a nice 20 incher on the Orange Uzick. Set the troll back up and BayBoy has a fish on, he laned a nice 17" keeper.

We appear to have hit a group of fish on the bite. To shorten this tale, I'll relate BayBoy's last fish on the Chartruese Uzick. He tells us that he's got a big fish, taking drag and bulldogging like crazy. I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings BUT it sure is acting like a sheepshead.....

Still pulling drag and diving like crazy. As bayBoy finally gets the fish moving up, I catch sight of a shadow deep and it sure looks like Mr Walleye. Swish goes the net and BayBoy is yelling HOLY COW!!!!!!!!!(or words to that effect-it is a respectible website)

Out comes the scale and put the fish on the tape - Jeez 28.0 maybe 28.5 inches...... The Rapala scale drops to 9.25 lbs............

The Chartruse Uzick gets another biggy...

Back to the dock to celebrate at 1400 hrs

The total for the day was seven walleyes and I christened a new rod with a sheepshead - D'ohhhhh
