Catching fish before thier season

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

It is really a lot like what I tell my kids: (Like the CO's) I may not catch you every time you're doing something wrong, but you will know it yourselves. It boils down to their conscience....

....and when it comes to predating OOS fish, it also includes good ethics and giving a hoot about conservation and the successful future of a good fishery. You guys up in Ontario, let me tell you how blessed you are with such a fantastic fishery resource. Here, it's now perfectly acceptable to target spawning bass; I was very sorry to see the protective regulation dumped in the name of making more $ for the state. Even though we could have fished for pre-spawn bass last week here on Otisco Lk., we opted to fish for perch and pannies instead.

You is a smart man, Big Jim. Wanna come discipline my kids? 8)

cant target a close season speacies c.mon.

i am sher you no even in catch and realease you get some mortality % bad hookstes ex to deap etc etc.

so you would have a chance even to kill fish even if its pre season. so ..you might kill fish for fun plus in pre season. :? .

wathever bud.

why do even bother to make regs... :?:

ho its only a week...then its only a week and a 1/2 then........???
ho yaaa that size limit..ho its only 1/2 shorter..

regs is reg there there to protec speciess. and the fisheries.

but we see so many people pre fishing for bass but use the pike as a alibi.....

i see people catching walleye jig at victorias right now..but they are after cats..

Last weekend, I was out fishing with my girlfriend. We were using floats, and worms on hooks.

For the most part we were just catching perch, lots of big chunky perch also. The occasional pumpkinseed also.

However, we also had a few pike hit the worms, and some bass. We released the Pike and Bass immediately, we kept the perch for a nice fish fry though!

Personally, I think that you cannot help what bites your hook.. Pike on a worm and bobber!!!???

However, the buck stops with you! You must release the fish immediately.

Its great to see everyone cares about the fisheries and and the lack of CO's. so the bottom line is if YOU are fishing out of season ON PURPOSE stop because the rest of us anglers want fish to catch for years to come.

If what I said here a few pages back is true...and it is...we really shouldn't need CO's should we!!!!! :D 8)

Nuff said here people, lets all use our moral integrity and have a great season...
