My Own Personal "Crappie" Heaven On the Rideau :)

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

My Own Personal "Crappie" Heaven On the Rideau :)

Post by FishingIsHealing »

Yesterday, I decided to go fishing since the water levels had been raised a bit.

This meant one thing and one thing only, THE BITE IS ON!

Enjoy the pics everyone, I have re-written this as to keep the spot more private.

Thanks man, have you caught anything lately bro?

Or still having trouble on the Ottawa?

I noticed the dams and water level on the rideau is at it's stable level which it operates at all summer so the fishing is just starting to pick up right about now.

Hope to see some more reports from you, this year!

Take Care WalleyeMan! Oh, and TIGHT LINES!

Hey Awesome job Thomas!!

I just posted a question a few minutes ago - asking - where the other crappie reports were?

Did you answer!! Nice slabs - and lots of them too.... Now that you found a good spot - you're in the MONEY!! :D

Good job man, i fish the rideau regularly but have never tried for crappie, im thinking about going out tommorow. Did you catch the crappie on live bait (worms) or a combination of a small jig tipped with worm?

Way to go FIH....wasn't it just last week you were saying you were fishless!?!?!!? . . . .now look at you go !!!!!!!!!! Awesome job!

Keep it up! SLAB SLAYER ! :D

Seeing all these pics and reports, I need to get out there an' get me some of those......
I've never fished for crappie or perch before, but I'm now getting anxious to get out there and try.......
anyone know if there are some good shore spots in the Prior?

Cheers!

Thanks for all your comments guys!

Walleye man! Try fishing Constance Creek or the Carp River or something, you might have some luck now that the water levels have dropped I think?

The water levels on the Rideau are pretty much back to normal summer levels now so the fishing is picking up bigtime.

I caught 3 cats tonight, which was really nice.

Fishing24/7 I may have a little head start but you'll still do much better than me hehheh....

Take Care everyone!

Gr8-Scott Ur right last week i was fishless, because the river was low and fast moving, and fishless more or less. Now it is calm, higher, and back to summer levels so the fishing is beginning to pick up so nicely :D Best time of the year probably is now!
