fish tv?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I have one and it works just fine. I have never tried it with the 10 c cell batteries. I clip it with the power cord to a full size trolling motor battery. Ice fishing it comes in handy for looking at the fish bites, type of fish and bottom structure as well as weed edges. I have used it off my boat to keep my son occupied by spying on the fish below. Has a nice clear picture.

It works real good , but it will cost you an arm and a leg in batteries

Use the adapter and hook it to a 12 volt battery 8)

I have mine on the sleigh with a 12V battery. I find it somewhat useless in a lot of situations. In the dark, the lights aren't strong enough to pick up anything over 12" away. At Petrie, I've tried it in 30 FOW and could see nothing, not even my pickeral rig. If you don't fish in a portable hut there is usually too much glare on the screen to make out anything. I've used it fishing for trout (clear lake) and in shallow water and I find then it's incredible. Although, get used to seeing large pike and muskie stare at your lure for hours.

:?: If anyone else knows some tips to using it, pass them along, please :?:

i baught one last year.
i don't mind it, just the glare is the worst part.
you either have to have the screen right up to your face, or have it on in a dark place.

i use the 10 c batteries.
they last around 5h..(at most)
its not the fisherman that catches the fish,, its the gear,,,

or is it the other way around? oh well...

:D Mine was $99 at BPS. When in the hut with the camera face down(you hook cord in tail) you can watch panfish bite and set the hoof before you feel the hit. Its good for looking at structure and what kind of fish you are seeing on the fish finder. Amazing picture in clear water on a sunny day..had it down 35' watching walleye and bass in one hole in the river.

Hey,

Wouldn't a good pair of polarizied sun glasses cut most of the glare? Sorry to steal the thread Surg, but what about camera control? I know there are "pole" attachments that you can get but those seem cumbersome, is it not frustrating and tedious to control the camera by twisting the power cord? And once you get it where you what it how do you keep it there??

Thanks, Ian

i have never tried using polarized glasses..might work..
as for the question about keeping the camera facing where you want it, i have one of those ice-pod's from nature-vision.

fish t.v. #1

why.....

when you go fishing with your girlfriend and she wants to leave after 2-3 houres of fishing....

pull the fish t.v. out and she will be addicted..... therfore winnning houres of fishing!

why again you ask.......

any of you have kids???

keep them occupied for houres trying to find tresure at the bottom of the lake....

meanwhile you fish for houres without hearing them wine! 8)

note: lake has got to be clear as gin.

put the fish t.v. in a dark deep box leaving just a small openning.

the over view is amazing! :D 8)

Had a buddies fish tv out today and there was a oh....20-30lb muskie swam by a few times then a gorgeous 20-25lbs pike strolled in.....watched him circle for a few mins....the BAMMMMMM he took the bait!!!!!! As I controlled the camera my buddy set the hook....seeing as it was my rod he passed it off to me but in the process of passing it to me, the line got a bit slack and he spit the minnow!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a thrill though knowing we had a 20somethin on down below!!!

Also is just nice to see what you're sitting above.....and what could be lurking in the murky depths.....
