One big happy family....

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

One big happy family....

Post by saskie »

After spending the last 4 days fighting off the worst cold/flu 1-2 punch in recent memory, nasty New Brunswick weather we arrived back in town late last night. This afternoon we scooted out for some back to basics fishing.

Chester was all excited at first, but glare icey conditions meant no play time...and I don't think he was all that thrilled about the new set up...

It didn't take him long to figure out that there were some advantages over the old 4X6 plywood shack we used to use:

The fishing was predictable...

a few nice perch and a bunch of dinky-doos.

But as the sun started to set the ice really started snapping bad, and it was too much for my "lion-hearted" :roll: fishing buddy so we called it a night before the slabs showed up.

Yeah...it works pretty good. It has it's advantages:

- easy to move;
- stable in the wind;
- nice comfy seats;
- integrated AM/FM/CD player
- built-in heater

On the downside:

- somewhat heavier than most portables;
- a tad pricey for a fish hut (but you get what you pay for, right?)
- a little crowded with four anglers fishing

and, well....then there's this:

Hiya Saskie,

Sounds like a nasty cold you had, but you must be better to be back on the ice. Hope so.

So nice to see Saskette and Chester joining you. :P I like the idea of your "hut on wheels" (with heat).

The ice was pretty rumbly out on Wolfe over the wknd, too; it's a bit unnerving! Shane was especially scared. At least you guys got a few fish to show for your efforts. Nice day out together!

when the sun comes out and theres no snow on the ice.
