Lake George

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Lake George

Post by eric »

Hey everyone,
I have a chance to go fish lake george near plantagenet this comming summer, but i have no idea what is in the lake or anything, and all I can find on the net is about some realestate company near there or lake george in New York state. If anyone has any info would greatly be appreciated.
thanks

Yes there is a small lake called Lake George between Plantagenet and Treadwell. If you type Lake George Road, Plantagenet Ontario on Google map, you see it.

I know it's a dark brown lake, clay stained, much like the South Nation River. It is also attached to the Ottawa River, so I would imagine what's in there is also in Lac George, perhaps minus sauger. Lots of camps on that lake, and houses but have never heard of anyone fishing it.

I have fished there once through the ice. There were a few walleye caught by ourselves and some other anglers who were also out.

Walleye, Pike, Bass and pannies... slow fishing from what the locals told me. Ice fished it a couple years ago and only caught tiny perch... lots of cottages and homes for such a small lake. The east end is supposed to have some great cover for largies.
