A few fall Specks and some scenery

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

A few fall Specks and some scenery

Post by TroutSlayer »

We hit a couple of back woods lakes in the Gogama area last weekend. The colours were great for photos and the fishing was alright as well. All Brook Trout were caught on spinners and all fish were released, some into the lake, and some into the frying pan. :D

Those are some mighty fine scenery shots and gorgeous squaretails sir!!

Either two of those troots were too big to fit in the pan, or you got a wee bit peckish and could not resist temptation :P

Beautiful pics for sure Troutslayer and thanks for sharing. What size and type of spinners were you using if I may ask?

Number 2 silver Blue Fox with a siwash hook and worm. All the specks caught were full of leeches, to the point of spewing them out while fighting the line.

They were in shallow (about 3 to 4 feet) along any weed edges. We did try for the monsters deeper, but all were caught shallow.

A fly rod with sinking tip line would have been fun with leech patterns. :D

The young fella we had with us did ok with just a worm and float!
