I found that when I first started using the net and forums, I had so many different user names and couldn't keep them straight Since a good memory is not my strong suit, I decided to go with one simple and easily remembered name for all forums. Like matcolecat, my name comes from kids: Rybren = RYan and BRENdan.

Yes we sell honey in a few stores from Brockville to Kingston and a bit further, in our own store, and in barrels to other honey packers, but do not rent out bees for pollination, we do some apicultural (bee related) consulting as well. We have had some losses, but not nearly as large as some other beekeepers, and no one really knows the cause of the extraordinarily large losses in the past few years, but yes pesticides are possible.Joisey Joe wrote: BeeMan, do you sell honey or lease out your bees? Have you had any losses? Heard pestisides are killing honey bees, is that true?
Feel free to stop in for a chat, if you are in the area, just contact me ahead of time to make sure I am around and not in a bee yard at this time of year. We provide free tours (kind of like a public relations deal for bees to make sure people know they are great little, mainly misunderstood critters.)
