Attention Bobber Problems with the Site again

Im still getting those errors... your site is wickedly slow and intermittent
at best.

Error is usually a problem connecting to the database so as a web app
developer of 10 years I have a couple of questions for you. Do you have
a database connection pool going? If so is it properly releasing the
connections back to the pool? Some errors are stating too many calls to
a particular method so perhaps some logic is wrong and it's caught in a
loop. Maybe you don't have enough available connections standing by or
you have a max set and it's always getting hit. I doubt it has anything to
do with bandwidth. PM me if you need to get to the bottom of this and
have it fixed once and for all.

SQL Error : 5 Out of memory (Needed 9530124 bytes)

This could be your problem. You need to make more memory available
to your database. If a large data amount is to be retrieved in a request
then your DB can't respond to the request and it will hang (ie. slow down)

What DB are you using, SQL Server 2003/2005, MySQL, etc.?

Also I have experience in phpBB. What web server are you using? Apache, JBoss, etc.. Like I said let me know if you need some help
it will only cost you your next 6lb+ LMB.

i think the admins are brushing this one off. they've only responded a couple times. saying it's fixed. well it's not.

i'm sure if there was a picture of a big bass then bobber would have a look.

Bobber, and Admins, this is getting bad again, that phb critical error is getting to be almost anytime i want to get on here and it is getting rediculously slow again.

One minute 22 seconds to be able to write this response. 5 min to get the site to actually come up and over 45 seconds to open a thread! This is really frustrating. I am trying to send and read pms to make plans to fish this weekend and I dont have time to wait.

Seems its the same old problem.

no-one is brushing anything off, honestly. I see the issues as well (intermittently anyway). Bobber is on vacation and there is little we can do until he addresses the issue. he might be able to do this from where he is, i don't know. until then please be patient (its not a long vacation)
