Nippissing Tomorrow!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Nippissing Tomorrow!

Post by pchilli1 »

Its finally here (feels like Christmas again). I'm off to Nippissing for the weekend (staying with Rob Hyatt) with 5 other good friends! Looking to catch a whitefish since I have yet to catch one. Glad I wasn't there yesterday, those winds seemed to have thrown around some smaller shacks!

I'll be sure to post the results!

Have a good weekend all,

P.

Good luck but I would check with the outfitter.

I was out on New years day in the French River and there was about 5 inches but that is a place that the ice forms late.

Spoke to my brother who lives on the lake in Sturgeon Falls yesterday and he said there was lots of water on the ice. and there will be lots of slush.

Good Luck.

I was speaking with someone from North Bay yesterday and he said there is still around 7-8 inches of ice. He said it's safe to go out he just suggested you leave the truck on shore. Apparently the fish are biting like crazy so hopefully you have a good time.

I've been out 4 times so far this year. The pike, walleye and perch are biting very well right now. The ice is very inconsistent all over as of 2 days ago. Some areas along shorelines were wide open. One side of Callander bay had 9-10" and the other side 4-5", with a small open spot in the middle. Most operators are still running, but most of them know the area/ice well. be careful!
