Smallie fishing St.Lawrence

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

they are everywhere!

I start with riprap shore lines and weed edges, then move to deeper areas such humps or a rocky bottom with current. if you fish deep go with jigs, tubes or grubs, on the current side of the structure. Twenty feet is not too deep.

are you looking at the 1000 islands or downstream?

Try the shoals and islands...don't be afraid to fish where there is current.

If I had a map handy right now I could be more specific...will have to check back later.

Tubes and light line...Water is gin clear and fish are spooky so long casts.

Stick them good as these fish love to jump...lost a couple good ones this past weekend :(

Braid for smallies :?: :?: :?: :?:

I was using 10 lb Berkley Vanish Transition which could be high but worked...I heard guys using 6 lb test.

Tubes colors - green and watermelon are good with some fleck in them.

You have a PM.
