Classing Antique Reels?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Classing Antique Reels?

Post by ShotgunRiderRob »

Wondering if anyone here classes or collects old reels or rods? Just started collecting and picked up 3 so far.

Possibly give links for Ontario reel collectors and tips on how to class, type of reels to keep "eye out for",price guides, etc.

So far collected these level wind reels:

Pflueger Akron No. 1893L
Bronson Mercury No.2550 (Etched with 2 fisherman in boat and sunset on side plates)
Shakespeare True Blue Model FK

Love to bring these somewhere other then a fleamarket to be classed.

Best source available is ORCA. As a heads up, these guys are very serious collectors from all over the world. Lurk the site and do some searching for answers before you register and start posting.

This site has a monthly news letter that high lights fishing tackle sales on E-Bay
