My first big bass

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

That's a lunker, especially for a kid. What did you catch that fatty on?

Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

I caught it on a 9 inch plastic worm and a light action spinning setup with 6lb test line. I had seen it 3-4 times over a year and could never catch it. But i did and then again a year after it my friend caught it on a live minnow.

i've actually thought about this before. i think the only way to do it would be to hybridize the florida strain bass with our native ones. that way, if all works out well, the offspring would have the ability to attain the size of the florida bass, while being as resistant to cold climate as our canadian fish.
