I may be going down to Rockport for May opening weekend, have been before but have never had a nibble. I will be limited to the immediate Rockport area and wondered if anyone fishes this area at the beginning of the season - a few tips would be most welcome

Lots of great pike there. Head into one of the many shallow bays and you'll hook up. There is some great cat fishing inthat area also. Look to some of the narrow channels running through the area. This is the area Fishing Freak pounded those big cats last year. That was right off the dock at Ivy Lee, I believe.
