Hot Action under Weekends Cold Fronts...

Although the bite was a tad slower then normal the groups of folks I had out Simcoe Sat and yesterday were all able to catch perch that averaged in the 10'' range with lots of fish in the 12 and some even 13''. Sharing some leading edge finesse tactics and dropping down to 2lb leads made the difference. Remember when things go slow out there.... SLOW DOWN your presentation and experiment...with some practice you can turn negative Jumbo's into hitting your bait. Here is a couple of pics from yesterday.

Be Happy to South..... I'm mostly fishing between Georgina and Thorah islands right now but the cental part of Cook's bay can also be great. I'm finding the better sized fish in 30-40' of water right now.....

Nice report and nice jumbos. I want to hit Simcoe this winter but I am waiting until the ice is good in the Lake Trout and Whitefish areas!

Thx for the details Slayingm,

I was out in Cooks bay yesterday. I wish I had read your reply before I went. I started out in shallow water and worked deeper. By the time I found the bigger ones it was too late, still, lots of fish being caught. Fish seemed to prefer dead/half minnows vs. live. Thx again for the report, much appreciated.

Have you heard of any Whitefish being caught out there so far this year? I tried that area a few weeks back and was inundated with smaller Perch.

I did take some huge rips off a windlass set 4 feet off bottom though...

Hi Legend, All of the key area's I work for Whities and Lakers are not safe.... not even to walk out and alot of the water in the main lake is still open. I'm itching to get out again as limits were the rule for us last season. Here's hoping the weather gets colder and soon!..... all I have right now is memories of a few months ago.....
