rideau river frozen over? kars ramp?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I really wouldnt suggest it malmothe!!!!!

Cold weather we have had will put a sheet on certain areas, but the Rideau has current and can be a tricky water body.

Please be safe 1st, we dont want to see anything happen bro!

Hi mlamothe. Going over the 416 bridge the Rideau is frozen from shore-line out to main channel. Can't see the Kars ramp but would suspect it is the same. The Kemptville Creek is frozen over so I would suspect the creek that the Kars ramp is on would also be. Just take along a good Ice Pick.

Cheers

Can't speak for the Ridcau, but the Ottawa is still accessible.

It is fun fishing the Rideau with the early ice. The ice freezes the shallow edges leaving the channel clearly marked.

Good luck.

Well, it's 10:30, so you may have laid your little head to rest by now (if not, got to bed ya punk). But, if you get this message in time, meet us at the Rockland launch at 9am if you like. You're a little guy, I'm sure we could squeeze you in. (and if you do, don't hog all the good parking spots  )

You crazy teen agers.
How did my dad put it to me "you're missing the best part of the day". Sure enough, he was right. Mind you, back then, I was certainly making the most of the nights. Next time JH.
